Overview

The objective of the Request for White Paper (RWP) is to obtain solutions to develop a prototype MAF compliant LWR system that will be expected to demonstrate platform compatibility and an increase to ground combat vehicle survivability. The LWRs assessed under this effort shall be required to, at a minimum, detect military laser aided threats such as Laser Range Finders (LRF), Laser Target Designators (LTD), and Laser Beam Riding Missiles (LBR). The LWR shall be required to provide rapid warning of threat type and signal direction to the Modular Active Protection System (MAPS) Controller (MAC) via the Modular APS Framework (MAF), as well as signals to enable deployment of obscurants and other electronic warfare countermeasures. A Request for Project Proposal (RPP) will be released to those respondents that provide a technically acceptable LWR solution.
