NAMC Joins New Rapid Acquisition Coalition to Advance Defense Innovation

The National Advanced Mobility Consortium (NAMC) is proud to serve as a founding member of the newly launched Rapid Acquisition Coalition (RAC), a collaborative effort dedicated to strengthening and modernizing the Department of War’s (DoW) technology acquisition ecosystem.

The RAC brings together OTA consortia, non-traditional technology firms, prime contractors, investors, and industrial partners to advocate for the continued evolution of Other Transaction Authority (OTA) consortia as a critical pathway for accelerating innovation. For more than a decade, OTAs have enabled rapid prototyping, expanded competition, and faster fielding of capabilities in autonomy, AI, cyber, space, mobility, and other mission-critical domains.

As part of this coalition, NAMC will support efforts to expand access for nontraditional vendors, promote transparency and accountability, and ensure Congress and national security leaders understand the unique value OTAs and consortia provide in bringing cutting-edge commercial technologies to the warfighter.

NAMC CEO, Alissa Roath, shared:

“OTA-based contracting models accelerate prototyping and fielding, helping DoW move at the speed of commercial innovation. RAC will work to ensure that any reforms maintain DoW’s ability to move fast when needed, preserve meaningful competition, and retain the consortium model’s unique value in expanding the industrial base.”
