Overview

SK APS is intended to protect GCVs from anti-armor munitions by passively detecting an incoming threat, identify the appropriate countermeasure response, and engage/neutralize the threat. The SK APS is modular and expandable, compromised of the Vehicle Protection System (VPS) Base Kit (VBK), plus additional sensors and countermeasures for threat detection and defeat. The SK APS uses a Modular Active Protection System (MAPS) Framework (MAF). The SK APS provides capabilities to detect, declare, classify, and defeat guided and unguided threats.

Soft Kill APS is intended to protect Ground Combat Vehicles (GCVs) from anti-armor munitions by detecting an incoming threat, identifying the appropriate countermeasure response, and engaging/neutralizing the threat. The System must be modular, safety compliant, and expandable using open standards. Modularity requires that the System can easily integrate future sensor and countermeasure solutions that are Modular Active Framework (MAF)-compliant. Safety compliance requires rigorous design, development, testing, and producing documentation for Safety Review Board requirements to pass Safety Compliancy. Expandability requires the software and architecture to be modular and capable to expand with other systems as the MAF standard evolves.

The purpose of this RPP is to solicit Fixed Price (FP) proposals for the research and development of an active protective system capable of declaring and classifying anti-armor threats and defeating anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) and other vehicle threats through the use of non-kinetic (i.e., soft-kill) countermeasures.

The Government may award up to two Prototype Project Agreement(s) (PPA(s)) as a result of proposal evaluation.
