Overview

The Government is developing the Robotic Vehicle Integration System (RVIS) for the Army. The RVIS program is intended to add platform side verifiable safety to any vehicle which it is incorporated onto and streamline the integration of payloads by using established protocols and standards. This system will be designed with the end goal of being fielded in military ground vehicles and therefore must comply from its inception to demonstrate verifiable safety using DO0178/DO-254 standards with the intent of meeting MIL-STD 882. This will be achieved using existing tools such as Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS), MagicDraw, etc. as well as any new tools that are considered essential. This system will take advantage of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) hardware and software wherever possible to reduce development time and cost.
