Overview

This project will deliver a prototype which will involve the development and integration of physical and/or virtual models to evaluate the technical feasibility or military utility of a novel autonomous system on manned/unmanned ground vehicles. The focus of the project will be to develop:

• Manned/Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) Behaviors using the Soldier-in-the-loop,
• Soldier Machine Interfaces to intuitively interact and control robotic systems, and
• Methods and protocols to operate and assess these systems safely.

To achieve these goals, the project will concentrate on creating a robotics and autonomous architecture, autonomous behaviors, platform electronic control, and autonomous safety and test engineering. The resulting manned/unmanned vehicles will leverage the technologies developed under CoVeR will be used to evaluate the enhancement of military personnel mission effectiveness using MUM-T.
