Overview

The Internally Transportable Vehicle (ITV) Family of Vehicles (FoV) is lightweight and internally transportable in the V-22 aircraft, and CH-53D & CH53E rotary wing aircraft. The ITV consists of two variants, the Prime Mover (PM) and Light Strike Variant (LSV). The PM variants are used to tow the M327 120 mm Rifled Towed Mortar (RTM) and M1164 ammunition trailers of the Expeditionary Fire Support System (EFSS), while the LSV serves as a 4-man light attack vehicle with crew-served weapons (MK19 or M2 capability). The LSV also provides Special Operations Forces (SOF) with a platform to support their primary and secondary missions. Speed, maneuverability, and the use of cover and concealment are the crew's primary means of survival. Initial Operating Capability (IOC) for the ITV FoV was achieved June 2009.
