Overview

The Integrated Systems Engineering Framework (ISEF) is a set of interconnected web-tools that enable systems engineering process throughout the product lifecycle and is used to support ground vehicle programs of record. ISEF uses the concept of a registry to separate the data schema used in ISEF tools from the software code. This allows users to customize tools to meet their purposes (for example, add attributes to requirements objects that are specific to a program and not included in the standard ISEF base registry). The current user interface for executing registry edits is clunky and non-intuitive. As a result, the use of registry customization has been less prevalent as it could be and registry edits are done through the ISEF help desk instead of directly by the users. ISEF requires a redesign of the registry administration user interface, which will intuitively walk users through the process of 1) Adding attributes to existing ISEF node types, 2) Adding new node types to existing ISEF tools, and 3) Creating new tools from scratch using the ISEF Universal Hierarchy Tool. The Government is seeking design and fabrication of a prototype to demonstrate the technical feasibility of a new registry editor wizard that will simplify these processes and enable more users to execute them, which would result in an improved user experience for ISEF.
