Overview

The Communications-Electronic Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC), Information and Intelligence Warfare Directorate (I2WD) is interested in demonstrating Laser Warning Receiver (LWR) technologies to increase ground vehicle survivability through RDECOM’s Modular Active Protection System (MAPS) program, as well as through upcoming vehicle Engineering Change Proposals (ECP). The LWR that will be developed and delivered through performance of this project will be required to, at a minimum, detect military laser threats such as Laser Rangefinders (LRF), Laser Target Designators (LTD) and Laser Beam Riders (LBR). The LWR will be required to provide threat information through vehicle interfaces, warning of threat type and direction, and potentially integrate with active protection systems on the vehicle.
