Overview

The Integrated Systems Engineering Framework (ISEF) is a set of interconnected web-tools that enable systems engineering process throughout the product lifecycle and is used to support ground vehicle programs of record. The oldest ISEF tool, Project Recon, utilizes its own URL, database, and application code while still integrating into ISEF through the ISEF Application Programming Interface (API). A rewrite of the Project Recon software would create a more seamless, integrated ISEF user experience as well as reduce future maintenance costs due to the management of two separate IT systems. The Government is seeking design and development of a virtual model prototype to demonstrate technical feasibility of a full integration of Project Recon into the ISEF codebase through the creation of a registry-driven (i.e., incorporating a customizable data schema) instance of Project Recon in ISEF with no loss of existing Project Recon functionality. Through being able to fully integrate Project Recon into ISEF, overall ISEF capability to connect other systems engineering data to risk management data will be increased, thus improving systems engineering execution.
