Overview

The Government is seeking proposals for the design and fabrication of prototype armored structures for use during ballistic experiments. These structures may include thick sectioned metallic stands fabricated to withstand multiple ballistic impacts while protecting experimentation equipment and other structures. The structure may be fully enclosed or simply a shield to protect what is behind it. The structures may require transparent armor to simulate ground vehicles or allow instrumentation (such as high speed video cameras, lighting, sensors, etc.) to "see" the event. The armored structures will be ballistically and explosively tested for technical capability to evaluate blast loading and its effects on the physical structure of ground vehicles.
