3D Woven Panels

The Government is seeking proposals for 3D woven composite panels. The composite panels shall be capable of stopping ballistic threats. This will be accomplished by the addition of ceramics into the panel. Panels will be a minimum of 24"x24" and may be in thicknesses of up to 5 inches. Areal densities between 20 and 70PSF will allow for application to a wide range of ballistic requirements. The panels may be ordered with or without having the resin infused. Various features may be incorporated into the panels for attachment to various platforms. The panels to be delivered as a result of project performance will evaluate the technical feasibility of this type of armor design/integration scheme that is directly relevant to the CVP program.
