Q: What is something unique about your product or service?
A: The Will-Burt Company designs and manufactures a full range of mobile elevation solutions including telescopic masts and towers, tilt systems, integrated trailer systems, cameras, and pan and tilt positioners. From man-portable elevation systems to telescopic masts and towers that can reach heights over 100 feet and raise payloads up to 2,000 lb., Will-Burt has a solution for every application. Our products are manufactured in ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certified factories and meet defense MIL-STD-810 requirements certified by independent 3rd party testing. Will-Burt serves several worldwide markets including defense, commercial, first responders, and more with our vast product offerings and integrated solutions.
Q: What do you consider your organization’s differentiator?
A: As an international company, Will-Burt has experienced engineering teams in the United States, Germany, Turkey, and Singapore as well as worldwide sales and product support. With our extensive knowledge of mobile elevation engineering, we are a fully integrated company in all manufacturing facilities. We have the resources to conduct rapid prototyping of new designs and our in-house testing labs allow for immediate validation of these designs. The Will-Burt Company is wholly owned by its employees, and we continuously invest in our facilities and our people to maintain our leadership position.
Q: How did your organization originate?
A: Will-Burt is the world’s largest manufacturer of mobile elevation products, and we didn’t get there overnight. Founded in 1894 and incorporated in 1918, The Will-Burt Company began as a contract manufacturing company specializing in metal processing. The transition to producing mobile elevation products occurred in the 1970s through government contracts and the acquisition of our German location in 2012 which has been fabricating mobile elevation products since 1946. Will-Burt has transitioned from a family-owned company to an employee-owned company through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan in 1985 and is now 100% employee owned. The Will-Burt Company employs approximately 340 people worldwide and is classified as a small business with its headquarters located in Orrville, Ohio, and sales throughout the world.
