Member Spotlight | 20 September 2022

In an effort to raise awareness to NAMC member capabilities within the consortium, NAMC launched the member spotlight last year, showcasing an organization from the capability areas identified via the GVS OTA.

Moving forward, we will do a standalone company spotlight twice a month. With over 500+ members, we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and submit your company's information via the link below. There are a lot of exciting projects this fiscal year, and the spotlights help raise awareness to your company capabilities.

Q: What is something unique about your products?

A: Bounce Imaging is a post Series A technology startup that has developed a line of tactical, throwable 360-degree cameras, designed to allow Warfighters to gain immediate 360-degree situational awareness during the critical last 30 meters of reconnaissance. These cameras use a unique, patented combination of hardware and software to enable 360-degree image-stitching that is 200x more processor efficient than traditional stitching methods. While throwable camera systems are our most popular product, the technology can be applied to any form factor and enable processor efficient stitching and gyro free-stabilization on throwable cameras, vehicles, robotics, UAVs, K9 cameras, etc.)

Q: Which Government Customer would you like to pitch your organization to?

A: Bounce Imaging works closely with first responders of all types. Our camera systems are used by any customers who deal with confined spaces and include military, law enforcement, rescue, and industrial safety end users. We also work with a number of other Defense companies to help enable sensor stitching/stabilization on their projects. We are most interested in meeting defense end users, program managers, and industry partners in need of 360-degree situational awareness.

Q: What capability gaps are you able to fill and which industry colleagues would you like to know about them?

A: There are limited situational awareness technologies that are effective for use in close quarters and confined spaces reconnaissance. Most of these technologies are limited by high cost, high cognitive load, and provide a very limited field of view. This causes key information to be missed on the objective and creates opportunity for higher risks to end users and civilians on the battlefield. Our camera provides end users with a low cognitive load, easy to use, low-cost system, with the ability to show a full 360 picture before a human life is put at risk.

Another area where our technology can provide significant benefit is in vehicle 360-degree awareness. Our camera can be installed both permanently and hastily on vehicles to provide immediate, close-in situational awareness for crew members and passengers. This allows for 360-situational awareness to be provided on armored vehicles at a fraction of the cost of other proposed systems.
