Member Spotlight | 22 May 2023

In an effort to raise awareness to NAMC member capabilities within the consortium, NAMC launched the member spotlight last year, showcasing an organization from the capability areas identified via the GVS OTA.

Moving forward, we will do a standalone company spotlight twice a month. With over 500+ members, we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and submit your company's information via the link below. There are a lot of exciting projects this fiscal year, and the spotlights help raise awareness to your company capabilities.

Q: What are your organizational goals?

A: As we are seeing a shift towards smart and connected "everything," Altair aims to be at the forefront of the convergence of Simulation, High Performance Computing, and Artificial Intelligence.

Q:What is something unique about your product or service?

A: Most notably, the Altair Unit based licensing model will be a key differentiator. It is a patented, subscription-based licensing model that has transformed the way Altair’s customers operate. With units, customers have full access to every Altair product with the power to solve problems on any scale. Packaged as a comprehensive set of applications, Units are scalable, shareable, and much more cost effective than obtaining individual licenses.

Licensing is as simple as: 1. Customers purchase a pool of sharable Altair Units, 2. Users draw Units from the pool to access Altair software from any location, 3. Units return to the pool after use and again become available to all users maximizing access and minimizing cost. Units define an extremely flexible pricing model which will allow the organizations to save and distribute current spending in the most fiscally responsible manner. Units will also give customers access to Altair’s Digital Engineering platform across on-demand locally, cloud, or hybrid environments.

Q: What capability gaps are you able to fill and which industry colleagues would you like to know about them?

A: There is no lack of “solutions” in the current ecosystem of products available to organizations and their needs around digital engineering. However, how these solutions are used together as part of a coherent process leaves a lot to be desired and the adage “too many cooks in the kitchen” rings true. Rather than piecemealing various one-off solutions, organizations should be prioritizing platforms that give its user community the ability to leverage the full convergence of Simulation, High Performance Computing, and Artificial Intelligence. Doing so will improve governance, scalability, and create frictionless user experience.
