Overview

The objective of this prototype project is to develop a means to visualize the collateral hazard analysis of a vehicle protection system engagement against various threats. Defeat mechanisms for threats vary but are often categorized as either hard-kill of soft-kill mechanisms. Hard-kill mechanisms physically engage and destroy the threat with an explosive (or similar) countermeasure, whereas soft-kill mechanisms will attempt to use non-kinetic means (e.g. lasers) to disrupt threat guidance or otherwise divert the threat. In either case, the threat defeat generally produces residuals that result in collateral hazard scenarios, impacting a different area of the environment than intended by the threat actor.
