Overview
The Modular Active Protection Systems (MAPS) program desires to investigate hardware and algorithms for integration and demonstration that provide a missile warning (MW)/hostile fire (HFI) indication capability on a military ground vehicle platform for slew to cue response. Proposals will describe the approach to integrate TRL 6 or better missile warning/hostile fire indication sensors with a Modular APS Framework (MAF) compliant controller, an optional smoke launcher, and a remote weapon station (RWS) onto the ground vehicle platform.
The proposal should include a combination of MW and/or HFI sensor(s) that will interface to the MAF compliant controller and provide data to the controller to facilitate detection of a launched threat, angle of bearing to the launched threat, and provide an estimate of the threat launch location. The sensor(s), when combined with supplied algorithms, shall be capable of discriminating between small arms, RPGs, ATGMs, and direct fire mortars. The controller will also hand-off slew-to-cue information to a second ground vehicle platform with the same RWS capability.
