Overview

The Integrated Systems Engineering Framework (ISEF) is a set of interconnected web-tools that enable systems engineering process throughout the product lifecycle and is used to support ground vehicle programs of record. The ISEF tools are sufficiently fast for users, but there is an opportunity to reduce load times within the tools and improve the overall user experience by reducing tool load times. Ideas to achieve this include (but are not limited to) 1) Leveraging OSLC web services, 2) Upgrading components of the software architecture to 64-bit implementations, 3) Paging (delayed loading) of large datasets, 4) Multi-threading to split load times across as many processor cores are available, and 5) Asynchronous (background) loading of large datasets. The contractor shall code and test technical feasibility of these avenues for speed improvements through prototype code implementations that will be developed and delivered as a virtual model prototype to the Government as well as reports that benchmark speed improvements against the current ISEF toolsuite, which will enable better systems engineering.
