Overview

The current and future demands of a highly mobile, resource limited, Forward Operating Base (FOB) Camp call for new/advancements in technologies for wastewater treatment. The reduction of water demand, by treating gray water (laundry and shower wastewater) for non-potable reuse, is needed to reduce the number of convoys necessary to bring in potable water and remove gray water. Being able to reuse wastewater could significantly reduce the demand on the ground vehicle convoys/systems that normally bring in potable water and remove gray water (e.g. M35, etc.).

The Government is seeking proposals for an energy efficient, containerized, gray water recycle/reuse system that can, at a minimum, be used to support a Platoon-sized (50 personnel, 1500 GPD) FOB during expeditionary operations. The technologies used in the system shall be scalable such that a system, that can support a Company-sized (150 personnel, 4500 GPD) FOB, can be developed using the same technologies.
