3:15PM ET Advanced Mobility | What does that mean exactly?
The advancements in mobility technology and products are advancing at a rapid pace. In 2014, when NAMC changed its name, the preeminent applications for autonomy were self-driving vehicles and UAS. However, since 2014 other applications of autonomy have taken hold. Applications include forklifts, delivery robots, service robots, and even motor scooters. The amalgamation of these individual applications into a larger system is beginning to capture the interests of both the commercial and federal sectors. As such, Advanced Mobility is no longer limited to next-generation chassis, drivetrains, and power systems. Technologies are being brought in from all corners of industry. As an example, in the commercial world urban planners are looking at what the urban environment of the future might look. This panel will discuss advanced mobility from a military perspective.
