In 2008, the National Advanced Mobility Consortium (NAMC), at the time the Robotics Technology Consortium (RTC), competitively selected the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) as its Consortium Administrative Organization (CAO).
While we have enjoyed a successful, twelve-year relationship with the NCMS, the NAMC has realized significant growth and organizational change. We believe that now is the opportune time to reevaluate our business structure as our current contract with NCMS is scheduled to expire at the end of this fiscal year. Therefore, the NAMC Board of Directors has determined that it will break up and recompete these services contract to ensure we best serve NAMC members and customers into the future.
We will be evaluating the cost/benefit of bringing some of the foundational services we provide to our members and the Government in-house through a variety of agreements. Most importantly, the NAMC will manage its Other Transaction Agreements (OTA)s directly, using its own SAM, DUNS and CAGE codes, as opposed to through an agent.
Two separate Request for Proposals have been released and can be found attached, with responses due to the NAMC in mid-June with the goal of having a source selection decision by the end of July and a new structure in place by end of the fiscal year. We are placing the highest priority on ensuring that there is little to no disruption to our Members or Government customers.
We are extremely grateful for the support the NCMS has provided us to-date. The close working relationship we have enjoyed has directly contributed to the success we have realized over these twelve years, and we have invited them personally to respond to the RFP(s) as the incumbent.
